This is the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis in Northern Morocco. I was lucky to go there late in the afternoon when the sun was getting low in the sky and had that beautiful “golden hour” light. The clouds from the showers earlier in the day made the sky even more dramatic. There is something just amazing and surreal about standing on the grounds of the very place that was a bustling Roman city 2000 years ago. I can’t even begin to explain the sense of awe I had for what has been excavated here and the beauty of what I saw.
