Choosing Your Engagement Session Location

Did you get engaged over the holidays?! Congratulations!

Every love story is unique and should be captured for all time. Your engagement months are a time to enjoy and be celebrated as a couple. You have just made the decision to spend the rest of your lives together!

So, the big question of the day is: How do you choose where to set your engagement portrait session?

Meaningful Memories.

Some questions that might shape your decision are: Where did you meet? Where was your first date? Where did you you fall in love? Where do you spend your time as a couple? Where did you become engaged? Do you love urban settings or do you love a rustic setting? Do you love the woods or a farm or a beach or the city? Ask yourself and fiancé these questions and it may begin to spark an idea for a special spot that you both love!

Style.

The style of your wedding might affect the location of your engagement session. Where will your wedding take place? Do you want to match your engagement portraits to fit the location of your wedding or make it the opposite? There is no “right or wrong” answer, but it is worth considering as you could use your engagement portraits for your “Save the Date” announcements, Guest Book, Wedding Slide Show and other details.

Season.

Timing changes everything! The time of year you’re getting married, the length of your engagement, and when the proposal occurred affects when you’re going to capture engagement portraits. The style of clothing worn may be determined by the location you choose, time of day and season or vice versa. Your love can be captured beautifully and creatively in any season, time of day and in any type of weather.

The most important thing is that you are making memories to be captured and cherished to add to your story.

Psssttt… Hey Gents! Here’s a great idea! If you’re planning to propose soon, plan to hire a professional photographer to capture your engagement moment! It’s a perfect way to capture the beginnings of your lives together and remember this moment forever.
